The All Progressivess Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom has described the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to contest the presidential election come 2019 as reasonable and satisfactory. The party expressed excitement for the early declaration saying President Buhari's second term will help to make Nigeria stronger and preserve the tenets of democracy in the country.
In view of the declaration earlier today, Prince Ade Omole, a chieftain of the chapter, has promised to pay for the nomination form on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Jacob Ogunseye and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) earlier today.
The UK party chapter said that their expectations have been met by the declaration and promised to work assiduously for the success of the party in 2019. According to the party helmsmen, President Buhari needs to consolidate on the achievements his administration has recorded in over three years most especially in economic growth, anti-graft war, security and youth development.
President Buhari deserves a second term and we are proud that he has yielded and declared his readiness to re-contest the election as Nigeria’s President in 2019 in earnest.
His administration’s achievements in the areas of security, economic growth, anti-corruption war and social development through laudable projects such as GEEP, CCT and HGSF; governance transparency and other areas that are visible to Nigerians.
The Diaspora party chapter told NAN that Nigerians should consider seriously the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari as a major step to consolidate and reinvent Nigeria into an emerging economic and democratic world power.
Nigerians all over the world irrespective of their religions and geographical locations should see the re-election bid of President Buhari as a major step that will help Nigeria stabilise and occupy its place in the comity of Nations, the statement added.
Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state had announced to the newsmen after the All Progressivess Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) closed-door meeting in Abuja that the President had declared his intention to run for the office of the President for the second term.
